AI starts with the right strategy
The successful use of artificial intelligence does not begin with technology, but with the question of which processes are actually suited for it. With the AmberTech Solutions pre-AI assessment, we evaluate your business processes against 30 criteria in five key categories: is a process suitable for AI, economically viable and manageable in terms of risk?
How we assess your processes
Each of the 30 criteria is scored from 0 to 3 points, so up to 90 points are possible in total. The criteria are spread across five categories, including data, processes, value contribution and complexity. This is what the data category looks like, for example:
- Data volume – Is there enough historical data? From less than one year of data (0 points) to more than five years (3 points).
- Data quality – How accurate and consistent is the data, and how many manual corrections are needed?
- Data structure – Is the data structured and machine-readable, or only unstructured text, images and audio?
- Data availability – Does the data exist only on paper, or can it be accessed automatically, ideally in real time via APIs?
- Data currency – Is the data updated regularly or even in real time?
- Data protection and compliance – How sensitive is the data, and how strictly is it regulated?
How to recognise good AI candidates
Processes with high potential are quick wins and strategic beacons at the same time. They combine four characteristics with a manageable, controllable risk profile:
- Data – the data foundation is solid, digitally available and of good quality.
- Processes – highly standardised, frequently recurring and with many manual, rule-based tasks.
- Value contribution – the potential to cut costs, increase efficiency or improve quality is obvious and high.
- Complexity – technically and organisationally manageable; standard solutions often already exist on the market.

What is the pre-AI assessment?
A structured evaluation of your business processes. Using 30 criteria in five categories, we check whether a process is suitable for AI, whether its use pays off economically and whether the risk is manageable. The result is a prioritised AI roadmap.
How does the assessment differ from the AI check on this website?
The AI check is a quick self-assessment with ten questions about one process, evaluated directly in your browser. The pre-AI assessment goes much deeper – together with you, we assess your processes against 30 criteria and derive concrete next steps.
How is the scoring done?
Each criterion is scored from 0 to 3 points, for a maximum of 90 points. 61 to 90 points means high potential, 31 to 60 points medium potential, and with 30 points or fewer a process is currently not suitable.
Which processes are particularly suited for AI?
Processes with a solid, digitally available data foundation that are standardised, recur frequently and involve many manual, rule-based tasks – and where the benefit of lower costs, higher efficiency or better quality is clearly visible. Tasks that require a lot of human creativity or intuition are less suitable.
What happens after the assessment?
Processes with high potential move on to a business case, formal risk acceptance and a pilot project (PoC). For medium potential, we first lay the groundwork, for example in data quality and standardisation, and then re-evaluate. Processes with low potential are deliberately put on hold.
