Operation model

Structure for large project landscapes – our operating model combines LeSS, traditional project management and SAFe in one clear environment. Less coordination, more impact.

Work efficiently

Clear tasks and structured roadmaps make sure everyone works on the right things.

Less coordination

A transparent structure gives everyone involved clear guidance and reduces coordination effort.

Cost-oriented

Goals are broken down into prioritised, actionable packages – so budget goes where it has an effect.

Many teams, one shared goal

Coordinating complex projects and different teams is an enormous challenge. With the AmberTech Solutions operation model, we guide your projects safely to success by combining the best approaches from LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum), traditional project management and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in a single, clear environment.

Four levels, clear ownership

Level Owner Max. lifetime Description
Goals Management – Serve the strategic direction of the company, e.g. growing the number of users.
Initiatives Management 12 months Break goals down into actionable, sequenced packages.
Epics Team level 3 months Parts of an initiative with clear instructions, split into stories and tasks.
Tasks Employees 1 day Stories, tasks or bugs – the smallest steps of work that get implemented.

The structure can be extended with additional levels if needed.

Mapped seamlessly in your tools

  • Atlassian Goals (formerly Atlas) – goals and sub-goals with clear ownership, team alignment and accountability.
  • Jira for initiatives, epics and tasks – a clear hierarchy with visible dependencies and transparent timelines.
  • Team boards and backlogs – team tasks follow the same order as the initiatives.

Rollout with change management

A successful rollout is a step-by-step process that builds orientation and trust. We start by mapping the goals in Atlassian Goals and then introduce product and team projects. Employee feedback and accompanying training continuously improve the model – and confidence in the new process grows.

Who is the operation model for?

For organisations that manage large project landscapes with several teams – regardless of whether those teams work in an agile or traditional way.

Do we have to change our tools?

No. We map the structure in your existing Atlassian environment, especially in Jira and Atlassian Goals.

How is the operation model structured?

In four levels with clear ownership: goals and initiatives (up to 12 months) sit with management, epics (up to 3 months) at team level and tasks (up to one day) with employees. The structure can be extended with additional levels if needed.

How do company goals connect to the teams' work?

Goals are tracked in Atlassian Goals; initiatives, epics and tasks live in Jira, in a hierarchy with visible dependencies. Team boards and backlogs follow the same order as the initiatives, so every task can be traced back to a goal.

How does the rollout work?

Step by step: we start by mapping the goals in Atlassian Goals and then introduce product and team projects. Training and employee feedback flow in continuously – so the model keeps improving and confidence in the new process grows.
